Creating an Atmosphere
Humans are very receptive to atmosphere and one can straight away sense, usually subconsciously, whether the place is attractive or not. Home is a place that should always feel attractive to its owners, but unfortunately, too few of us really pay attention to this. There are quite a few ways to make your home attractive and the best thing is to choose the right ones personally for you and your family.
I have noticed that a warm house is always cozy and attractive. However, do not go overboard and make it too hot to the point that everyone starts sweating – it is not supposed to be a sauna! Make sure all your windows are sealed well in order to avoid any leakages that would make the house colder and the electricity bill higher. An item that creates needed warmth and helps you cut the energy bill is a fireplace. However, make sure it has been engineered well, like the fireplaces at Uunisepät. We got our fireplace form the Finnish fireplace company called Uunisepät and have been able to save up to 30% in electricity costs. A fireplace is also a great mood creator and you can always cuddle up next to it with a good book and a glass of wine.
Everyone should definitely pay attention to lighting. Lighting is utterly important when setting the mood for different things. In your office or workspace the lights should be bright and positioned in a way that they shine on your desk. In bedroom, however, the lights should be a bit dim and possibly even of peach color to soften the atmosphere. In bathrooms it is also advised to use warm tones if you get cold easily.
All in all, remember to pay attention to your surroundings and especially your home. I woke up to the reality few years ago and find my home to be my sanctuary nowadays. Thanks to our fireplace from Uunisepät, adjusted lighting system and +23 degrees, my family and I can come home after a long day at work or school and just relax.
