Engineering Where It Matters
I am the kind of person that pays attention to little things and I never want to pay for something that is not worth every penny it costs. The things that I find to be worth the money are the things that are dependent on engineering and materials. This includes things such as cars, electronics and fireplaces.
Everyone knows how a well-engineered car behaves in contrast to a normal Korean car – no offence. Cars, such as Bugatti and McLaren, are engineered to the pin and they perform as a charm. But then of course, the price of those super cars is beyond anything we normal immortals could ever even imagine paying. Never mind the up keeping costs…
Engineering matters also in electronics. If you buy a smart phone at some market place in China, it won’t last you for years and it sure doesn’t have any guarantee. Also, the parts used in the phone are of those cheap ones so do not rely on it to work for long. On the other hand, smart phone brands that have made a name on their products and are steadily selling are usually the ones that are well engineered and, thus, work and serve their owner well. And if something is wrong, you can usually count on the guarantee.
However, surprisingly engineering counts also in fireplaces. Fireplaces in which engineering there was some thought put into are usually not only heating but also heat reserving and give away heat steadily for hours. This is something that I learned when I bought my fireplace from Uunisepät. Uunisepät is a Finnish fireplace company that puts a lot of effort into engineering. It really does matter whether the fireplace is reserving heat or not and after having my fireplace from Uunisepät, I have noticed that it really does save me money. If it is doing it properly, then you save quite a lot in heating costs and you don’t have to worry about any dangerous fumes or smoke.
I have
been looking into engineering and its benefit-cost ratio and I have
to say that many of the things that are well engineered and are of
quality materials are definitely worth every penny.
